Importance of Vision

“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The prophet was instructed to write the vision. Vision is defined according Oxford Languages: the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom. So plainly stated when you write your vision you write the ending before you get to the beginning. In Jeremiah 1:5 God told Jeremiah:

““Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Which clearly means before Jeremiah’s parents were married and before they even consummated God already planned Jeremiah’s life’s purpose for a specific time and to a specific people. So I would like to say this. You not having a vision for your own life is like setting out on a road trip with no destination, you just driving, wasting gas, wasting time and all without purpose. You have to know where you are going, what you are supposed to do and who you are supposed to impact to fulfill your purpose and destiny in God. He is the creator of all things. He knows your beginning from your end.

We have convenient tools that help us get around from point a to point b. It’s called GPS but before the GPS there was Mapquest and before Mapquest there was the Road Atlas. Now I can’t tell you how they navigated prior to the Road Atlas but I guess they used land navigation and with compasses like I was taught in the military. I do remember when I was 21 and my dad purchased my first vehicle. I flew home from the army for my grandmother’s funeral. I had to drive this car back from Illinois to Virginia. I went to the gas station and bought a road map and mapped my way back to Virginia. I had to know my destination in order to get where I was going. Along the way it wasn’t clear which exit to get off at on the Pennsylvania turnpike to get to 95 south towards DC so I stopped at a gas station and asked for assistance. Along the way you may need help. Just ask the creator of all things. He knows. Now the GPS is more advanced than the road map. It will reroute you if there is an accident ahead, as well as traffic. Now it tells you if there is a speed trap ahead. Sounds familiar. Holy Spirit will give us those gentle nudges when we are getting off track if there is danger ahead, people we need to cut off, or if there is a better wiser way.

Scripture tells us in Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Many people are dying today without discovering who they are or accomplishing their dreams in life because they lacked the knowledge concerning the importance of vision. The word vision is mentioned 79 times is the Bible which means it clearly has significance pertaining to our everyday lives. Being able to see is important and as we age our vision tends to diminish and require us to wear glasses to aid us. But we can still see! That’s all that’s important. The ability to see! However vision is beyond eyesight, that is what we can see naturally, it has a spiritual connotation as well. Here’s a biblical account in 2 Kings 6:8-18 The Blinded Syrian Captured

“Now the king of Syria was making war against Israel; and he consulted with his servants, saying, “My camp will be in such and such a place.” And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, “Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there.” Then the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. Thus he warned him, and he was watchful there, not just once or twice. Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?” And one of his servants said, “None, my Lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.” And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan.” Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.”
‭‭II Kings‬ ‭6:8-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So if you haven’t already done so, get a notebook and start writing your vision for every area of your life, your education, your business, your career, your health, your wellness, and anything task you plan to do. Set your end result so you can start your beginning and be on the right path to success. Seek the Father in everything you do and allow the Holy Spirit to navigate and come along side you to help.

Let the Side Show Begin

Transparent moment. I retreated from ministry in my cave for a while. For various valid reasons. At that time in my life I had succumbed to how people treated me and retreated. So now I am out of the cave and I refuse to retreat this time. However I am grieved, by many things. Today I am grieved by the quarreling amongst believers, leaders even. I’m grieved by peoples need to exalt a title above everything; above God, above character, above reputation, above integrity, above wisdom. Insecurities have driven motivations to be seen and heard which tells me even with the title many still don’t know who they are in God. There are other things but I will not list them. This very song comes to mind by Blue Magic called “Let The Sideshow Begin”. I’ll put the lyrics at the end.

I just want to say this. Whatever God has called you to, do it with this purpose and this purpose in mind only, to please the Father, To Do His Will, With His Heart and Most Importantly With His Spirit. If you are truly walking in His Spirit there is no room for insecurities, there is no room for pride, there is no room for arrogance and self loathing. Repent and leave it all on the altar. Get back on your knees and seek the Father for the desires of the Kingdom and not of this world. Many of us say “More of You God and Less of Me” but you really don’t meant it. You want a name for yourself. You want to be famous. Jesus even had to tell His disciples, the least of you is the greatest among you. They were quarreling amongst each other as to who was the greatest. Jesus told them unless they humble themselves as little children! My God! I pray we get it before His return I pray we truly do.

The enemy has used social media as a temptress and many have fallen for the trick:

  1. The lust of the flesh
  2. The lust of the eye
  3. The Pride of Life

Many use social media to stroke these lusts of theirs in the name of ministering the gospel but it isn’t so.

We are not to be ignorant of the devils devices. Consecrate yourself ask the Father to show you those “little foxes” in you that spoil the whole vine.

Love you and I hope we get it. This message was impromptu and not rehearsed and Holy Spirit led. I won’t apologize for it. If you’re upset by it take it to the Father.

Love you and please share the Good News.

The Snap Back

Who remembers this product? Lol however there is a prophetic message in this. Do you see what I see!

  1. Care Free: free from anxiety of responsibility, having no worries

“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” I Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭55:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“You have granted me life and favor, And Your care has preserved my spirit.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭10:12‬ ‭NKJV‬

2. Snap Back: to recover quickly and easily from an illness or period of difficulty.

“they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.””
‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭30:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ ” Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord, and said, “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.” ’ And this is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which He has spoken:”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38:1-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

3. Restorer: To give back: return, to put or bring back into existence or use, to bring back to or put back into a former or original state : RENEW, to put again in possession of something

“Some time later many of the people, both men and women, began to complain against the other Jews. Some said, “We have large families, we need grain to keep us alive.” Others said, “We have had to mortgage our fields and vineyards and houses to get enough grain to keep us from starving.” Still others said, “We had to borrow money to pay the royal tax on our fields and vineyards. We are of the same race as the other Jews. Aren’t our children just as good as theirs? But we have to make slaves of our children. Some of our daughters have already been sold as slaves. We are helpless because our fields and vineyards have been taken away from us.” When I heard their complaints, I grew angry and decided to act. I denounced the leaders and officials of the people and told them, “You are oppressing your own relatives!” I called a public assembly to deal with the problem and said, “As far as we have been able, we have been buying back our Jewish relatives who had to sell themselves to foreigners. Now you are forcing your own relatives to sell themselves to you, their own people!” The leaders were silent and could find nothing to say. Then I said, “What you are doing is wrong! You ought to obey God and do what’s right. Then you would not give our enemies, the Gentiles, any reason to ridicule us. I have let the people borrow money and grain from me, and so have my companions and those who work for me. Now let’s give up all our claims to repayment. Cancel all the debts they owe you—money or grain or wine or olive oil. And give them back their fields, vineyards, olive groves, and houses right now!” The leaders replied, “We’ll do as you say. We’ll give the property back and not try to collect the debts.” I called in the priests and made the leaders swear in front of them to keep the promise they had just made. Then I took off the sash I was wearing around my waist and shook it out. “This is how God will shake any of you who don’t keep your promise,” I said. “God will take away your houses and everything you own, and will leave you with nothing.” Everyone who was present said, “Amen!” and praised the Lord. And the leaders kept their promise.”
‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭5:1-13‬ ‭GNT‬‬

In this time and in this hour of recession and oppression, do not fear because God is with those who believe! He is turning things around! Just hold on and rejoice and believe! Thank Him now for turning things around in your favor! You health, your finances, your joy, your mental health, your peace! That thing you prayed for in secret God is about to reward you openly! Everything you need! God is restoring! Receive it!!

Thought for today…Peace

Opened my eyes and looked around and realized I have something that money cannot buy. I looked around and the peace of God was all around me. It always has been. Everybody chasing money, stunting and fronting about stuff that could do anything for them during this time! But I promise you the peace that I have cannot he measure and it is invaluable, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Y’all can have all the followers, y’all can have all the likes, y’all can have all the fake, y’all can have all the designer, y’all can have it all! If that’s all you want you are teaching too low in life! I want more and money can’t buy it! Have you taken this time to do some self reflection? Evaluate yourself, where you are in life, where you want to be, where you should be, where you’ve dropped the ball, where you need to pick up the slack, where you can improve, what you can do better? Well I have and so should you. If the first thing you want to do is run to a club when all this is over, you didn’t learn anything. Shoot the messenger I don’t care. Just being a vessel. All I’m saying is take the time to look at the man in the mirror and do better. To repent clearly means to change how you think and act. Take baby steps. Change your way of thinking about life, about money, about your children, about your family, about your career about your future. I read a meme the other day and it stated “you have 100 pairs of Jordan’s and no life insurance” We are killing ourselves, we hate on each other, we don’t like to see others succeed because we are too lazy to get off our own butts and put the work in. We want someone to do the work for us. And if sex and getting $40 or how many women you can bag is the your top goal in life you are losing already. Well in all my thoughts I was reminded of this song

Golden Nugget – True Happiness

I wanna give y’all one of my golden nuggets today…

Happiness is a frame of mind. To truly be happy you must be content with yourself. Content with the person that you are, inside and out. Opinions don’t matter, things don’t matter, status doesn’t matter. You get those things by being diligent and working hard…the fruit of your labor. However happiness comes from within and if you are not happy with yourself, Change..write down those things you are not happy with and set goals to make that change. If you don’t like the results you are getting take a different route but don’t give up!! Keep your eyes on the prize and that’s a better happy you!!!! Now does that a mean you will never face obstacles or have shortcomings or struggles or difficult times…no. What it means is you condition yourself to recognize the source of the problem, figure out the lesson to be learned and accept it all while maintaining your peace and your happiness! It took me a long time to get to this place of awareness but through many trials and lessons learned, I have a little knowledge and wisdom to share through experience. Don’t be deceived and spend your whole life chasing money and buying stuff thinking it’s gonna make you happy. It fails every time. It’s a cycle. You reach a goal and buy something you’ve always wanted and once you get it you still feel unfulfilled then you’re on to the next thing. It’s the things that don’t cost you money that matters most in life. Like love, family, good times and good memories, respect, a peace of mind. How many of you have watched documentaries of people who are living below poverty level but they are happy and full of joy just loving one another, grateful and content with what they have. Think about it. http://www.sicilytalks.com

Know your worth

Worth by definition is as follows:

1. Usefulness or importance

2. The value of something measured by its qualities or by esteem in which it is held

3. A moral or personal value

4. To the fullest extent of one’s value or ability

5. Having monetary or material value

So after reading the definition it is safe to say that a person of value or worth is measured by a few things: money, morality or character and integrity, importance, and by your esteem.

In society there are so many classes that people are classified in and if you are not careful you can become very confused about yourself and your life.

Financial status has become very influential around the world. Many people can pay for what they want, pay for their reputation, pay for their respect, pay to look good. With social media being so popular it’s very hard to tell who’s real and who’s fake.

In my opinion true worth is not measured by how much money you have but it’s measured by those things that don’t require money to obtain.

Hard work, integrity, humility, selflessness, character, honesty, faithfulness, are a few on my list.

As a person your reputation precedes you. When someone mentions your name what is your track record? Will people speak well of you? Your reputation goes a long way and can take you places money can’t keep you. Money can come and go but if you have earned people’s trust and you have a good track record people will act favorably towards you no matter how much money you have. Drive and ambition is key.

It starts first with you knowing who you are. Your worth! Have respect for yourself and others. Tell the truth. Do exactly what you say you are gonna do.

As a woman I can honestly say I have earned respect from many people on all levels of society, women and men alike. I carry myself in a respectful way. This respect was not earned in a sleezy way as with most stereotypes. I work hard, I respect others and demand the same respect. I help those in need. I give freely expecting nothing in return. If someone confides in me I do not share their business I keep it to myself. I dress appropriately for my age and my body type. I wear what I like and I don’t try to do or be like anyone else but Sicily. I am not a follower.I consider myself a risk taker. I use the term risk because it’s by faith. I pursue it until I can see it come to pass.

I am saddened by some of the things I have been seeing lately. Women and men acting immature and careless. Not having respect for themselves or others. Seeking the wrong attention. Mistaking lust for love.Abusing their bodies and not seeing or realize they deserve better for themselves.

You will only seek after or reach for what you deem yourself worthy of having. For example, you apply for a job as a cashier when you are qualified to be the manager. You have all the skills, education nd all the experience but you don’t think you deserve the better job. You settle for mediocrity. You live life below your “worth” level.

There should always be upward mobility in your life. You should always live to get to the next level. You should always be learning. Always thinking. Always believing. Have faith.

The beginning to knowing who you are and knowing your worth is simple. Take the time to evaluate yourself and your life. Set goals. Personal, spiritual  financial…etc. Write out a plan of action. “What do I need to do to get here or obtain this or that”. Go back to school. Learn a different skill. Do what it takes to thrive and survive and make a change.

90 percent of the problem is the way you think or the way you view yourself and others around you. Time to renew your mind. Read books in the areas that you are lacking growth in. Wisdom and knowledge is key. Change the things you can change accept the things you cannot. God can work miracles and he is in the business of taking something old and making it new again. Read your word. The Bible is the key to knowing who you are and who God created you to be. Self evaluation on a daily basis is important. A constant prayer life is vital. Take things day by day. Small victories turn into triumphant successes.

You can do it! I am living proof!

Before you know it you will go from saying:

“I think I can” to

“I know I can” to

“Here I am” What a wonderful place to be!

I pray this helps!

Be blessed!

Proverbs Chapter 5

Day 5 of our 31 Day Challenge

While studying this chapter I learned the following:

Warning against adultery.

Commandment 7 of the 10 Commandment tells us not to commit adultery. Commandment 10 tells us not to covet. So we are commanded not  sleep with another’s husband or wife and to go even deeper we are not to covet, which means to desire someone else’s husband, wife or belongings. Both  are sin.

Commiting adultery will cause you to lose everything, including respect. You lose integrity, and trust as well.

We are to be happy with what we have. The Lord sees everything. We cannot get away with anything. We reap what we sow. We must have self control.

Lord, help us to resist the devil and sin, that will cause us to fall and displease you. Help us to have self control. Help us to be content with all that you have blessed us with. We are forever grateful, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Proverbs Chapter 4

Day 4 of our 31 Day Challenge

While studying this chapter I learned the following:

Benefits of wisdom

It is wise as children to always listen to the instruction and teaching of your parents. They are giving us instruction based on past experience. These teaching will save us from a lot of things, as well as keep us from wasting precious time.

Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. Whatever else you get in addition to wisdom let it be insight.

Love wisdom and she will make you great. Embrace her and she will bring you honor. She will be your crowning glory.

When you know and practice the right way to live nothing will stand in your way if you walk wisely, and you will not stumble when you run.

Always remember what you have learned. Your education is your life. Guard it well.

Do not go where evil men go. Do not follow their example.

Plan carefully what you do, and whatever you do will turn out right.

Lord, help me to stay on the straight path. Keep me from evil. Let me delight in doing good. So I can always please and bring glory to you. Give me wisdom and insight and never let me let it go. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Proverbs Chapter 3

Day 3 of our 31 Day Proverbs Challenge

In studying this chapter I learned the following:

Following good teaching and direction gives you long life and peace.

Mercy and truth as well as loyalty and faithfulness go hand in hand. If you hold on to these qualities you will obtain favor with God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Always remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.

Never let yourself think you are wiser than you are. Simply obey the Lord and refuse to do wrong.

Honor the Lord by giving Him the best of all your increase, by doing this you will never lack and you will have much over flow.

Take heed to the Lord’s correction. It is a warning before destruction.

Lord, I trust you will all my heart, always direct my every decision. Let me always have favor with you and with man. Help me to never forsake the truth and always do good. Extend the years of my life and allow me to live in peace.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Proverbs Chapter 2

Day 2 of our 31 Day Proverbs Challenge

In studying this chapter. I learned the following:

There are benefits is seeking and obtaining wisdom. It’s like an insurance policy. It’s like a gift that keeps on giving.

We must search for wisdom, as hard as you would search for money, and riches.  Look for it as if you are in a scavenger hunt.

The benefits of wisdom is gaining knowledge of God.

Common sense is a treasure. When you seek God for wisdom and know what it means to fear the LORD he will protect, shield and guard those who walk in integrity, those who are just and those who are faithful to him.

When you know wisdom it will save you from the hands of evil people and adultery, you will not fall for slick talk or seductive words.

Lord, help me to never forget the benefits of wisdom. Hide wisdom in my heart. Protect me and shield me from wrong doings. Help me to make the right decisions. Help me to have knowledge and understanding of your word. I trust and believe this by faith. In Jesus name, Amen!
